Kiko Green Me Eyeshadow Palette in Feisty Saffron | Review

Hey you! So, lately I’ve bought some new things (expect a haul coming your way as soon as I get them), and even though most was online (my first time ordering from Kiko online), this product was one that I could not find online. But I wanted it. So, after going to a few different Kiko shops, I finally found it! So, if you want to know what my thoughts are, just keep on reading!

The packaging: It comes in a cardboard cover, which is made of 30% recycled post-consumer organic residue with 100% green energy. This recycled cardboard falls within the lines of a “greener” collection. As for the palette itself it’s a beautiful pale green, with an almost matte touch to it. However, it is smaller than what I expected.

The price: This palette retails at full price for €12.95, which I do find a little expensive for the size of the palette, but Kiko makeup is usually good quality. However, I got it on sale, for €3.85. Such a bargain!

The product: Made with 94% ingredients derived from natural raw materials, the palette offers 9 different shades, of 1g each. The colour scheme reminds me of the naked heat (which I was never interested in), but shades, that I actually would get a lot of wear in the winter time. It was a very interesting smell to it, mostly like natural products, but I cannot put my finger on what exactly. The formula is nice and smooth, and the shades are really pigmented and easy to blend. It is overall a good quality product!

Now, today, I’ll be sharing with you the products that I’ve completely used up and my thoughts on them. It’s so exciting for me to use up these products, and even though I have no makeup products, that will soon change! Now, without further due, let’s get on with the post!

Ultimate Blends Shower Moisturizer

  • Rate – 4 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – Yes, but not now.
  • My thoughts – Since I’m so lazy when it comes to moisturizing my body, this was the perfect solution. I just apply it as a shower gel and have soft skin. However, now, I’m just trying to use up my lotions, so this is not a necessity right now.

Nivea Clear-Up Pore Strips

  • Rate – 5 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – Yes!
  • My thoughts – This is the best pore cleansing strips that I’ve ever tried! I will definitely repurchase them!

Avon Clear Skin Blackhead Clearing Treatment

  • Rate – 3.5 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – No
  • My thoughts – This is a very strong scented tonner. It really smells like alcohol, which is not the best thing to apply to the fac. There are better toners out there in the drugstore!

Dove Go Fresh Deodorant

  • Rate – 5 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – I already have!
  • My thoughts – I adore this deodorant! It smells amazing and it lasts all day! And it does not leave spots in my clothes. It is the best one!

Avon Anew Anti-Aging 3-in-1 Cleasing Water

  • Rate – 0 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – Hell no!
  • My thoughts – This is the worst micellar water I have ever tried! It is scented and stings my eyes like crazy. Not worth the money.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Peach Kiss

  • Rate – 3.5 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – Not now
  • My thoughts – I was just using this as a lip balm, and even though it worked fine, there are others out there that are better than this one.

Avon Foot Works Reviving Foot and Leg Gel

  • Rate – 5 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – Yes!
  • My thoughts – I do use these products a lot due to my condition and I find that they really work and help to relieve the pain, which is awesome! I love this one, it has a nice scent and it really works!

Etude House Dr Mascara Fixer – Review

Hey you! So today, I have a product review for you! This post, as you’ve probably seen, it’s about the Etude House Dr Mascara Fixer. So, if you want to know more, keep on reading!

I do not love my lashes! I do not know about you, by I have super straight eyelashes and it is so annoying! I curl my eyelashes everyday before applying mascara and it does looks amazing for the first 10 minutes, but then, my lashes start to loose to curl and become straight again, which just drives me nuts! So, I’ve been struggling to find anything that would help to keep the curl in my lashes, and when I saw this, I decided it was worth giving it a go!

The packaging: This product comes in a squeezy tube, but has a mascara wand. As most of the Korean products, the packaging is cute. It’s a white with a pink duo chrome shift to it with a silver cap. However, I do not like to have a squeezy tube. I just find it is not practical at all and I’d rather have a normal mascara tube.

The product: This product retails for $7.80. This is a clear “mascara”, which has a crazy scent to it. I mean, you wouldn’t buy an eye product for its scent, but this one has a strong chemical scent, but, if the product does makes my lashes curled, I could actually put up with the smell. This product comes in 3 varieties, which range from what you’re looking for: volume, curling or waterproof, which you can use under and/or over your mascara.

The claims: This transparent fixing gel mascara offers perfect curl / volume / waterproof fix in any environment and climate. Infused with Black Food extracts to condition lashes. After using an eyelash curler, apply under and over mascara to fix the curl and to waterproof.

My experience: I’ve used this product both under my mascara after using my eyelash curler and over my mascara, and I also did try both steps at once. So, I feel like I know what is the best way to use this! So, I did find that I got the best results when, I applied this product over my mascara (but I had to curl them again). I would just keep my lashes look curled all day long, which I could never get, no matter which mascara I used. So, I’ve been loving this product and using it every single day!

Have you tried this? What’s your secret to keep curled lashes? NA

Dermacol Make-up Cover – Review

Hey you! Today, I’ll be reviewing the Dermacol “foundation”. I mean, I had to! This, however, is a product that most people misunderstand and misuse. The brand itself does not advices to use it as a foundation, but, instead to use it as a concealer.

Claims: Hypoallergenic Waterproof Make-up cover with SPF 30 is preservative free. It provides the perfect coverage even in thin layers not only for dark circles under the eyes, but also for unpleasant sports and skin blemishes. It may also be used for the whole face in order to darken or lighten the skin, ensuring ideal balance or for professional make-up, photos or film shoots, modelling or festive occasions.

My experience: I got the shade 218, which is slightly too pink for me. I haven’t used this as a foundation, just because it’s too much and my skin is quite sensitive. However, I’ve used it as a spot concealer and it works. And it did not break me out, where I applied it. This is a heavy-duty product! It will cover anything and everything! And, once it sets, it won’t move! It is waterproof and nothing will make it move. You can run a marathon with it!

Conclusion: Well, as a spot concealer, I’d definitely recommend it. Will I reach for it? Probably not too often, just because I prefer my makeup more on the natural side. But, when I need more coverage, in certain areas, I’ll for sure grab it. It for sure works! Which leads me to believe it will be the foundation with craziest coverage.

Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquers – Review

Hey you! Long time, no seeing. But, first of all, a few updates:

  • I own you a huge apology due to the lack of posts in the last days. My sister-in-law just got married and, it was just a crazy week. However, now, things should be getting into normal and I’ll be posting in my regular schedule (Monday, Wednesday and Friday);
  • Secondly, the next post will be the makeup that I wore for the wedding, which is super exciting, since it will be my first makeup tutorial! So, keep an eye out for it!
  • And finally, for the next week, I’ll be doing my master thesis, which, just seems crazy! Wish me luck!

Now, let’s just get into the post!

Recently, Avon released liquid lip lacquers, and I was super excited to give them a go! I do love Avon cosmetics, which are quite nice, so, I ordered a couple of them.

  • The liquid lip lacquers, come in 20 shades and two different finishes: matte and shine. It was hard to narrow it down, but I decided to pick the two nude shades: dare to be bare (which is the matte formula) and nudeitude (which is the shine formula). And, although they’re both nudes, the shades are different, which I do enjoy.

Top: Nudeitude (shine formula); Bottom: Dare to be Bare (matte formula)

  • The shine formula, reminds me so much of the Too Faced Liquid Latex, just a very thick and pigmented gloss. But so comfortable on the lips. And, I also find that hey last quite well on the lips and they do not bleed or move, which I was slightly worried about.
  • For the matte formula, it is like nothing I have ever tried before! It’s a mousse consistency, which makes it super comfortable to wear. I also find, that they do not dry down to a complete matte finish, but more like a satin matte, which I also, do not mind.

Conclusion: I do love this liquid lip lacquers and I’ll for sure be getting a few more shades of these lipsticks.

Sulwhasoo Renewing Kit – Review

Hey you! Today, I’ll be sharing with you my thoughts on the Sulwhasoo Renewing Kit. Now, I’ve been wanting to try this for so long mainly because of the amazing reviews, especially for the serum. Also, let me tell you that this is a sample size kit, so if I do enjoy this product, I’ll consider getting the full size.

Cost: The kit (which is trial size) it costs $5, which includes 4 mL of the First Care Activating Serum EX and 5 mL of the Essential Firming Cream EX. Now, the full size of the Serum retails for $84 and the Cream retails for $100.

  • Both products are formulated with JISUN Firming Complex™, a special ingredient complex of goji berries, black beans, and arrowroot.
  • The serum claims to hydrate and balance skin for a healthy and glowing look. For dry skin caused by aging, the complex nourishes and firms the appearance of the complexion for healthier looking, glowing skin. The serum helps boost your next skincare product’s absorption, usage, and results. It’s suitable even for customers with delicate or sensitive skin.
  • The cream seamlessly absorbs into skin for a naturally healthy complexion. The cream helps fortify aged and loosened look of the skin, completing an overall younger-looking appearance. The cream helps skin to retain moisture, and makes its surface appear firm while hydrated.

My experience: I find that both of these products have a very fresh citrus smell to the, which I do really enjoy. Both the serum and the cream look and feel amazing once on the skin and I do see an improvement with skin texture and elasticity. Also, the skin looks quite nourished.

Conclusion: I love these products, but I’ll have to save some money to get the full sizes, but, I would actually recommend them!

Vichy Pore Purifying Clay Mask – Review

Hey you! And welcome back or welcome, if you’re new here! Today, I’ll be sharing with you my thoughts on the Vichy Purifying Clay Mask. Now, this has to be the first mask that I try from Vichy, so, we shall see how this works out. Also, let me tell you that this is a sample that came with something else that I purchased, so if I do enjoy this product, I’ll for sure get the full size!

Now, let’s jump into it!

Cost: Full size retails for $20 which is not expensive, considering that you get 75 mL. Also, there is samples available for trial for $3.50.

Claims: Suited for all skin types, with shine and enlarged pores.
This clay mask is rich in two white clays [Kaolin, Bentonite] that act like a ‘magnet’ to draw out excess sebum and impurities from the skin. Combined with Aleo Vera extracts to hydrate and sooth skin and Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water to help strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier function and protect against aggressors. Paraben-free.

My experience: Now, beware that this mask smells a lot like clay also, it has a thick texture so a little goes a long way. While on the skin, it feels super lightweight and highly moisturizing to the skin. You can still smell it while it is on, but for me, the smell does not bother me. After rinsing it off, the skin feels super hydrated and so smooth. And, call me crazy but my pores seem to be smaller and for sure a lot cleaner.

Conclusions: This mask is a new discovery for me and once I leave the house I will purchase the full size of this. It’s amazing! Highly recommended!

Micellar Water vs Micellar Gel

Hey you! Today I’ll be changing things up and I’ll be reviewing this two products and letting you know which one I find that it’s the best. Of course everyone knows (and loves) the micellar water but how would you feel about a micellar gel?

Garnier Micellar Water: This is a well known product that claims to be an all in one, capable of removing makeup, dirt and oils from the skin.

  • Gentle;
  • Effectively removes makeup and cleanses the skin;
  • No need to rinse it off
  • Quick, easy and better than face wipes;
  • Quite inexpensive;
  • Doesn’t irritate my skin;
  • Alcohol and fragrance free.

  • Doesn’t really gets rid of waterproof makeup (specially mascara);

My experience: I quite like this product. I use it as my first step of my night time routine just to take the majority of my makeup off. However, I feel like it leaves a film on my skin and I do not enjoy that feeling. And, although it claims to be an all in one product I always follow it up with my skincare. So, after the micellar water I’ll go in with a cleanser, toner, oil and moisturizer.

Garnier Micellar Gel: Clear, fragrance free, all in one gel that was designed o remove both makeup and impurities from the skin.

  • Gentle;
  • A little goes a long way;
  • Easy to rinse it off;
  • Affordable;
  • Effectively removes makeup (and including waterproof mascara);
  • Doesn’t irritate my skin;
  • Alcohol and fragrance free.

  • Although it says that it is ophthalmologically tested, it stings my eyes tremendously;
  • Should be used on a previously wet face.

My experience: When I saw that they had came out with a micellar gel I was supper excited and grabbed it. However, when I used it, I was not blown away. I does remove makeup but so does the micellar water. And using it as a cleanser, oh well, I have other that I reach for more than this one.

Overall: Although both products are quite affordable, I find that I like the micellar water more than the micellar gel just because it is more easy to use since there’s no need to wet my face or rinse the product off.

Have you tried the micellar gel? Which one do you like more? NA

Loua Face Sheet Masks

Hey you! Today I’ll be reviewing this new brand at the drugstore, Loua by Laurence Dumont.
Hope you enjoy it.

First, about the brand:
Based near Agen in Estillac, France, this brand was founded in 1987 to offer consumers perfumes and body care of a professional quality level, which could then be used at home. In 2006, Régis Lelong took over the company and gave it a new dynamic, oriented towards the two areas of expertise: perfumes and hair removal. The first ambition was to innovate to better meet the new expectations.
Back in 2009 Laurence Dumont BIO was created, the first line of organic hair removal sold in GMS. After this, a lot of hair removal products and perfumes were introduced to the market, either for men or woman. Laurence Dumont offers high quality products at an affordable price. The brand has many products awarded by the Victoires de la Beauté.

Now, about the maks:
There are several face sheet masks available, either being for anti-blemish. anti-aging, brightening and so on. You get a wet face mask containing 23 mL of product, and you need to leave it on for 20 min.

I have tried the anti-blemish, which has green tea and the brightening which has vitamin C. Since I have quite oily skin, I was super excited to try the anti-blemish and let me tell you, it works wonders. It left my skin feeling super hydrated and nourished. And in the next day, the blemishes were gone and my skin was matte. This has to be one of the best masks I have tried so far. Such a great drugstore find. So highly recommended.

Hope you enjoyed it.
Love you
