One Year Later | My Blogging Experience

Hey you! So today we’ll change things up and talk about blogging! So, last Saturday, June the 2nd, my blog, Pink Coma, turned 1 year. One year, that is just crazy how time goes by so fast. So, I thought it would be a nice idea to share with you all about my experience with blogging! So, if you want to know what my thoughts and experiences are, just keep on reading!

My Blogging Experience.jpg

Why did I start blogging

I started blogging because I was spending a lot of time at home, with nothing to do. So, I felt like blogging would be a nice hobby. I love makeup, beauty and testing new products. So, blogging was a nice way to keep me busy and also, to keep sharing my thoughts on products. It sounded like the best of both worlds.

My expectations

I thought blogging was going to be the most amazing thing. I did not though it would give me a lot of work, and I did think that I was going to have a lot of opportunities being a blogger and all.

The reality

Man, was I wrong. Blogging takes a lot of time and commitment, especially if you’re a small blog, like me, and you have to do everything on your own. There are photos that need to be taken, posts that need to be written, scheduled and published. A lot, to do. The opportunities did not come as easily as I first thought and life can also get in the way. I started by publishing three post a week, because I had the time, but after getting back into University for my Master, I quickly realized it was not possible ( I wrote a post going into detail about that). Plus, do not think that you’ll be able to do it all alone. You need to be kind and active on other blogs as well. Keeping up with the community is all very important. So, one year and 570 followers later, I do think that it was all worth it. Let me tell you, I love blogging and sharing my thoughts, but I also love hearing what other people have to say.

What has changed in my life

Nothing. Zero. It is still all the same. And, even though blogging has given me some opportunities (small), there were no changes. And I’m not mad about it. You’ve learned thing and changed them, even if there were no big changes, and no big money. If you love it, go for it.

May Favourites | 2018

Hey you! I’d like to firstly apologize for being MIA this past week, but school got in the way and it was just crazy. Secondly, it is the end of the month. Again! But as much as I love favourites posts, the time has gone by so quickly. However, if you want to know what I was loving this past month, just keep on reading!

Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette – I’ve had this eyeshadow palette for a while now, and I’ve never actually really use it, but, now, I’m absolutely loving this. I’ve been using it as my eyeshadow palette and as my highlighter. It’s such a nice palette, plus, it does smell really nice.

Revolution Duo Face Sculpt – I’ve never loved bronzer that much but, lately I’ve been adoring it, and using it every single day. I do not leave my house without bronzer, that’s how much I love it. This one pulls slightly red-toned and I’m not even mad, I just feel like it does look a little bit more natural on the skin. Plus, it is quite affordable, and there is a lot of product!

Avant RNA Radical Firmness Anti-Ageing Serum – This I got in my LookFantastic Beauty Box and I cannot tell you how good this product is. It just applies beautifully to the skin. leaving it feeling super hydrated and smooth. The full-size is expensive product, but, for me, absolutely worth it.

ELF Tinted Moisturizer in Nude This is the most perfect base. I love light-coverage and this one is perfect. Easy to apply, does not oxidizes or look patchy. Perfect for the everyday look!

Avon Naturals Delicate Shower Gel – I adore this smell and I wish they did a body mist smelling exactly like this. Plus, it does leave my skin feeling really nice and hydrated. I couldn’t love it more.

Makeup That Is Tempting Me

Hey you! So, a lot of new releases have been hitting the market (as always) but even more now that we’re approaching summer, and let me tell you I’m not mad about it. However, if you follow my blog, you may know that I’m on a low-buy, which to be honest is not like most of the low buys that you see out there (you can read more about it here), but that doesn’t mean I should be spending a lot of money. However, these products have been on my watch list for a while now. If you want to know what those products are, just keep on reading.

Colourpop Fame Pressed Powder Shadow Palette – This is cool-tone lover’s dream come true. It would be a unique eyeshadow palette in my collection since I do not own that many cooled-tone shades. I just love it. Plus, colourpop eyeshadow are always such nice quality.

BH Cosmetics Nouveau Neutrals 26 Colour Shadow and Blush Palette – This one has so many amazing warm shades that I could just love and wear every single day. Plus, I’ve always wanted to try their blushes and this is such an amazing way to have the best of both. Plus, those blush shades are everything that I use and love!

Revolution X Tammy Tropical Paradise Palette – This is all the colour that I need in my life. It is warm with some pops of greens, which is one of my favourite eyeshadow colours. Plus that blue is stunning. It is just beautiful.

Smashbox + Vlada Petal Metal Collection – I must admit, part of the reason that I’m lusting after this one is the packaging, look at it, it’s gorgeous! But those highlighters seem amazing and I’d love to try those out. Such a beautiful collection!

LookFantastic Beauty Box | May 2018

Hey you! My Beauty Box arrived in the mail yesterday, so I’ll be sharing what are the products and the theme for this month. So, if you want to know, just keep on reading!

This is my third month getting this subscription box, and I’ve been loving it every single month!  It retails for €20, for every month renew (which is what I choose). It comes with 6 products, an Elle magazine and a brochure, talking about this months’ products. This month’s theme is Beauty Bazaar, meaning, that is all about a bold splash of vibrancy, which, looking at the box itself, you can clearly see. Now, into the products.

Avant RNA Serum – This is a sample size product (5mL), which retails for approximately for €20.33, which is just crazy for 5 mL of product. However, I have not heard of this brand before, but I’ll definitely try this one!

Thisworks In Transit Camera Close-Up – This product is half (20mL) of the full-sized product, and it retails for approximately €19.23. I have never tried this product, but since it can have different uses, it just makes it more interesting. I’ll be trying this!

Skinrepublic Bubble Purifying + Charcoal Face Sheet Mask – This product, of course is a full-sized product and retails for approximately €0.60 each piece. I have never seen this kind of a face mask in a sheet, but always in a pot and I’m intrigued to try this.

Sleek Makeup Face Contour Kit in Medium This is also a full-sized product and it retails for €8.50. However, I feel like they took a huge gamble putting this in the box. This colour works for me but it won’t work for everyone, which is a shame.

Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner – Again, this is a full-sized product, that retails for €18.95, which is just crazy for a liquid eyeliner. Even though I’m not crazy about liquid liners, I’ll try this one and then see how I fell about it.

Spotlight Teeth Whitening Strips – This product comes with four packs, with two stripes each, retailing for €39.95 is just crazy. However, with my wedding coming, this will be handy!

Products You Bought Just for the Packaging

Hey you! So today, I bring you a different kind of post, all about the makeup products that, let’s admit, you just bought for that packaging. Plus, you maybe have never picked up that product to use it a single time.

However, I do feel like a disclaimer is needed. Some people do actually like to collect limited edition collections or even products that have a collector-worth packaging. However, I do not mean to offend anyone, but I do not believe in that. If you’re buying something, and spending the money on it, you have to use it and make your money worth. Plus, all that matter is the product itself. Now, into the post.

Urban Decay Alice Through the Looking Glass Eyeshadow Palette – Now, this has to be the first one that comes to mind, when talking about beautiful packaging. It just seems like suddenly, you are inside The Hatter’s mind. It is just crazy and amazing at the same time.

Moschino + Sephora Limited Edition Colection – Again, this is such a cute looking packaging. I mean, they are all little gold bears, and it couldn’t be any cuter. That is just cuteness overload.

Urban Decay Basquiat Collection – This is such an amazing artist and the packaging couldn’t be any less. Even though the packaging was cardboard, it is such a nice packaging and it was just gorgeous.

MAC x Mariah Carey Collection – MAC is a well-known brand when it comes to beautiful limited-edition package and collections and this one was no exception. The packaging was so extra and so beautiful.

Another iHerb Haul

Hey you! Here I am again with another iHerb haul. I have done some posts like this, which you can go and check them out here and here! This is one of my favourite websites to shop from. there is always a nice sale going on, the shipping isn’t crazy and the products available are so affordable! I cannot say enough good things about it. So, now, if you want to know what I picked up this time, just keep on reading.

ELF Beautifully Bare Smooth Matte Eyeshadow in Brown Cashmere This was not the colour that I was expecting. I thought this would be a more light and warm shade of brown, but it is quite a deep shade. I’m not mad, I’ll still wear it, but it just caught me by surprise!

ELF Bronzer in Cool I was dying to get this product and I want to get the other two. I was so unsure of which shade I should get, so I decided I should go for the cooler shade, because even if it would be too cool to wear as a bronzer, I could still contour with it. Thank God, the shade is beautiful and I do love the formula. Now, I will for sure be getting the other two shades!

ELF Blush in Candid Coral This was one that I wasn’t even sure I’d pick up. People were just saying that this was no good, it was just shimmer, and I was scared. Thankfully, I love it. Yes, it is a blush that has glow, but it looks so nice on the skin!

ELF Bronzer Palette in Deep Bronze I’ve had this product but in the lighter shade that they make, which is Bronzed Beauty. I hated that one and ended up just keeping one shade and throwing away the rest. Now, this one is deeper and richer, which I love. Plus, these shades are more what I like to wear. I love this one!

Have you tried any of these? What do you think of them? NA

April Favourites | 2018

Hey you! So, the end of the month has arrived, so it means it is time for one of my favourite posts, the monthly favourites. I adore writing these and I also adore seeing what other people were enjoying and probably, find some new products to try. Now, if you want to know what were the products that I was loving this past month, just keep on reading!

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Light Medium and The Saem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer in 1.5 Now, you must be wondering why I am mentioning these two product together. Well, the reason is quite simple, I’ve been enjoying both of them together. I find that the Saem one just looks too cakey under my eyes, without giving me any coverage. Mixing it with the Shape Tape just made it amazing. This combination lasts all day and it looks like a filter on my skin. It is amazing!

Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Amber – I love the formula of these products and I’ve talked about the shimmery version previously on my blog, but now, I’ve discovered this one and it is amazing. It is such a nice and natural shade for bronzer, plus, it blends like a dream!

Labello in Milk & Honey This was a product that I picked up because I’d run out of lip balms, and I had no expectations for it, I mean, how good could a lip balm be. Let me tell you, this is such an amazing product. It smells amazing and leaves your lips super smooth and soft.

ELF Tone Adjusting Face Primer in Neutralizing Green I’ve had this product for a while now, but I decided it was time to pull it out and start to use it, and I’ve been enjoying it. It is a silicone-based primer, so if you do not like that, this product is not for you. But I find that t just blurs the pores so well. However, the green tint, I find that it does nothing when neutralizing the green, but for an affordable blurring primer, this product is nice.

Empties #3

Hey you! So, today I bring you, one again the products that I have completely used up. I will also be sharing with you my brief thoughts on each product. So, if you want to know, what those products are, just keep on reading!

Avon Naturals Cranberry & Cinnamon Scented Spritz

  • Rate – 5 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – Yes, definitely!
  • My thoughts – I love this scent. It is such a cozy and warm scent that just reminds of winter. I love these perfumes. However, you need to reapply. Even though the scent lasts a while, by the end of the day, it is completely gone.

Nivea Gentle Toner

  • Rate – 5 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – Yes, definitely!
  • My thoughts – I do really like this product and this is my second or third bottle that I’ve used up. It is such a nice toner that just cleanses and refreshes the skin without being too much. Highly recommended!

Garnier Ultimate Blends Revitalizing Dry Shampoo

  • Rate – 3 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – No
  • My thoughts – This was ok. It did leave my hair smelling nice but, as far as refreshing it and absorbing oils, it did nothing. So, I’d not repurchase this one.

Nivea Double Effect Eye Makeup Remover

  • Rate – 2 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – No
  • My thoughts – I have talked several times about this product on my blog, but not for good reasons. This just burns my eyes like nothing else, what is a shame, because the product itself is amazing and it removes eye makeup like nothing else. It took me probably near to a year to finish it, just because it burned so bad. Such a shame.

Garnier Ultimate Blends Avocado and Shea Butter Hair Mask

  • Rate – 4 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – Yes
  • My thoughts – This was a nice hair mask. It left my hair so soft and smooth. Plus, it does smell really nice. I’d definitely pick it up once again!

Natura Shampoo

  • Rate – 3 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – No
  • My thoughts – This was an ok shampoo. It smells very herbal and it did nothing special for my hair. I would not buy it again.

Avon Naturals Jasmin Scented Spritz

  • Rate – 5 out of 5
  • Repurchase? – Definitely
  • My thoughts – I love the scent of jasmin, so this is one of my favourite scents that Avon does in this formula. I’ll forever repurchase this one!

Lookfantastic Beauty Box | April 2018

Hey you! I’m so sorry I have been MIA this past week. But, it is that time again. Today I’ll be sharing what I got in my lookfantastic beauty box! If you want to know my opinion and whether I find it worth it, keep on reading.

I love the box. It retails for €20, for every month renew (which is what I choose). It comes with 6 products, an Elle magazine and a brochure, talking about this months’ products. This month’s theme is beauty awakening, meaning that it is all about discovering new products and brands, of more natural ingredients.  Now, into the products…

PUR Fully Charged Mascara – This is a sample size (4mL), which retails for approximately €6.50. I’ve always wanted to try something from PUR, and a mascara is a nice product to start with. I cannot wait to try it out!

Glamglow SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment – Again, this is a sample size product (15g), which retails approximately for €14.84, which is not cheap for a travel size, in my opinion. However, I’ve been so excited since we found out last month that this would be included in this box. This will be one of the first things that I’ll be trying out!

Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm – Another sample size (15mL), which retails approximately for €8.32. This is a brand that I have never heard of, but I’ll haply try it. Now, this product has a strong scent to it, so I do not know how much I’ll like it once it is on my face.

Nuxe Crème Fraîche de Beauté – Again, another sample size (15mL), retailing approximately for €9.73. I love Nuxe products, plus they have natural ingredients, which is always nice. I will for sure try this one!

Dr Botanicals Vegan Bergamont & Poppy Seed Soap – This is a full-size product, retailing aproximately for €22. This is a product that I was not expecting but, it is a gentle exfoliator for the body, which I’ll happily try! But, again, it has a strong scent to it, so I do not know how much will I like it.

NIP+FAB Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads – This is a sample size product (10 pads) which retails for approximately €1.33. I have never tried glycolic acid on my skin, so I do not know how it will react. But I’d love to try this one!

Makeup Launches That No One Cared About | 2017

Hey you! So, today we’ll change things up and talk about products that launched and no one cared about them! These products came out and no one noticed it. That has to be weird, right? Actually, some of these, I’ve only heard maybe two people talking about them. However, if any of these products you have and love, great for you, plus, let me know, which ones do you love. This is just my opinion and in no way am I trying to offend anyone.

Of course, I do not own any of the products that I am about to talk about, so I’ll be using pictures from the official website. Now, with that out of the way, if you want to know what are the products that, in my opinion, no one talked about, just keep on reading!

Moschino + Sephora Limited Edition Collection – This is the first one that comes to my mind. Although it comes with quite some products, no one cared about this. However, if I’m being honest, I did see a person, talking about this but, that person, did not love this collection. The eyeshadows were ok, and so were the other products.

Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Sheer Lipstick & Blush Duo – This one is tricky, just because, when it came out, some people did a first impression on this, just because it was just such a different thing. However, after that was over, no one else talked about it. And, even though the lipstick works ok, the blush is not good, so no one talked about this, just because no one loved it.

Lorac Pirates of the Caribbean Pro Eyeshadow Palette – This hurts me to talk about. I adore every single movie ever done of the Pirates of the Caribbean. However, I felt like this palette was dropped in the middle of nowhere. It just appeared on the makeup world, and guess what, no one even noticed that it did come out.

Milk Makeup Holographic Highlighting Powder – When did this happen? This was just not talked about. I didn’t even saw people getting it in PR. Nothing at all. Milk makeup is quite strange, just because I find that most people do not like it, so maybe people were just afraid to go and get it. Plus, I feel like the holographic trend is way over.

Have you ever tried any of these? Do you love any of these? NA
